"Ariel" is a great dagger, a custom piece made for a particular client. Ariel's blade is mirror finished and hollow ground 440C high chromium martensitic stainless steel for the greatest longevity of finish and highest corrosion resistance of any of the polished stainless steels. The grind is difficult and challenging, with 180 degree grind terminations fully radiused and polished, and custom hand-engraving on the stainless blade. The guard and pommel are 304 high chromium, high nickel stainless steel, sculpted and polished, the ferrules are sterling silver and nickel silver. The handle is beautiful, rich green nephrite jade gemstone, hand- carved, fluted and wire wrapped with sterling silver twist. At the pommel rests a wire wrapped "lily" in 304 stainless steel and polished Italian Green Goldstone. The sheath is custom per the client's request, in hand-tooled and stamped 9-10 oz leather shoulder, dyed, lacquered, and sealed.
