"Last Chance EL" Custom Tactical Knife

The "Last Chance" was originally designed by a state police officer for his use and carry. When I asked what he might need it for, he told me it would be his last chance tool and weapon, so the name stuck. I've made this pattern style of knife for police, SWAT team members, emergency responders, Pararescuemen, and civilians. This particular model has an extra length non-glare bead blasted 440C high chromium martensitic stainless tool steel blade, with 1.5" of straight serrations and a half-length top swage to decrease point profile. The knife is deeply hollow ground for a good, thin edge geometry, and has a fully tapered tang for weight balance. The spine is fileworked and the bolsters are multi-pinned and bead blasted nickel silver for high corrosion resistance. The handle has substantial quillons to keep the hand locked to the hand in either forward or reverse grip style with plenty of belly for a comfortable grip, while the rear quillon has a .250" lanyard hole for extra security if needed. The handle material is a muted and natural color of pressure stabilized Box Elder Burl, and is tough and waterproof. The knife is sheathed in a tension fit model made of double thickness gray kydex thermoformed over a 5052H32 corrosion resistant high strength aluminum welt frame, secured with blued steel Chicago screws with a nickel plated steel belt/boot clip for convenient carry. A tough and useful adjunct!
