The Markarian is a tough knife pattern and this one is all set for serious combat and tactical use. This well designed knife has a stout blade with a clip point that is swaged to reduce point profile without sacrificing strength, and a substantial blade spine. The knife has a full tang for strength and the front bolster and tang are formed into a bolster-guard type arrangement of quillons to offer maximum protection of the hand. The bolsters are super tough 304 austenitic high nickel, high chromium stainless steel, and are dovetailed and contoured, with the rear bolster offering a through-tang lanyard hole for extra security if desired. The bolsters bed a pair of striking, beautiful, and tough Nephrite Jade gemstone handle scales, one of the toughest gemstones I use, and they will literally outlast the knife. The sheath is one of my tension fit double-thickness kydex models, thermoformed over high strength aluminum alloy welt frame with die-formed aluminum belt loops. The sheath is secured with blued steel Chicago screws with 1/4" posts. This is a tough, durable, and useful combat and tactical knife.
